Highlights!

The past week has been so so so awesome. My uncle from home came, my huge stash of instant noodles and chilli crab came, photos and videos of the family arrived along with many other things! I was just psyched to see someone from home!

We spent a day here in Kingston and left for Toronto the next morning. This was the trip that I've anticipated since Thanksgiving. Toronto is always special Spending a good 6 days there was so awesome. I fell in love with that city 8 years ago.. and now I'm in it. So its no surprise i want to go to uni there now. So University of Toronto will be one of my choices, along with Queens and UofOttawa. Most of the time spent in Toronto was channelled towards eating the besttt Asian food ever ie. Dim Sum, Sushi and Thai, and doing some sightseeing with my uncle. Most of the time was really spent shopping, driving around to visit, and sitting at the Johnsons' to watch downloaded movies. I wanna live in Toronto, and work there and have a family there(if God willing). It's just too difficult to put in into words but I LOVE Toronto.. the lights, the vibrant energy, the nightlife, the cultural mosiac and the food!

So, the year is coming to an end now. I'm ready to leave 2006 behind and look forward to 2007.
This year has been eventful, from working at transit hotel to being shipped half way across the world. No regrets, there's gonna be more things to see and learn and do! I'm excited to bring in the new year especially since I'm going in absolutely fresh, with no strings attached to anyone or anything. I'm ready to go back to school and make new friends and kick some ass, oh and party moderately too! I'm gonna have fun.. and take more pictures and take care of ME. I'm gonna have down time wih myself more often and take it easy.

Resolutions for 2007
  1. Get into a university of my choice.
  2. Stay off the guy scene.
  3. Get straight As
  4. Spend money more wisely.
  5. Taking it easy.
  6. Taking more photos.
  7. Smartening up.
  8. Getting a good summer job.
  9. Being a good girl.
  10. HAVING TONS OF FUN!

So farewell 2006! Hello 2007!

An Encounter with The Player

The "player" catagory of guys seem to be the most enticing for girls who have the inclination to make their somewhat unsatisfactory life more interesting. Getting involved with the hustler type involves no emotional attachments, for the well-being of your heart, but what happens when he uses emotional lines to somewhat flirt and lure you into his "love shack"?

I've come to realise how curiosity regarding the want to experiment with this sort will get u nowhere but burned. What would you do if he says "I wish I could have the next lifetime with you" or "I'll make you so happy" or even sings "She's everything I ever wanted, everything I need..."? This, I would think is outrageous, because the whole notion of playing someone is leaving their heart and emotions out of the stupid game they play. But then the damned little thing a.k.a Naivity sets in, the you suddenly lose the logic and knowledge that was right in the front of your mind. Then, you begin the process of digging the hole that you might or might not fall into(that's how naive she can be.), of course you'll fall in!

By the time, you've come to a realisation that you've gone as far as it goes, it's too late. You open your eyes and hope for some divine miracle, that he'll fall into some emotional state which suggests that he cared or cares. Again, Naivity. The morning light brightens the room ,and the highlight of the night before, turns into regret. You pick up whatever's left of your dignity and walk out the door, while he talks about the Hockey game tonight. The lack of an acknowledgement of anything that happened drives her insane. When you think it doesn't get worse.. his parting words are "The sex was good, the chase was fun, but I can't go the extra mile." At that moment, you realize that you've been BURNED.

Fcuktabulous Weekend

I'm so exhaused, I became hyper. Don't even ask me how that happens. So I got in just today around 8pm from my weekend in Ottawa. I had so much fun.. as usual.. Clubbing, boozing, shopping and sightseeing. We'll start from the top.

Friday: Was the last official day of school. So there were parties all over the different Residences. Got into a huge quarrel with the Meanie, then, headed of to get Buzzed. So the res of our (me, Dave, Steph, James, (hot)John and Jaime) was Sean's res. So the night was filled with tons of alcohol, lots and lots and lots of laughing, Chilling, gossip, doing inappropriate things and eventually dragging our drunk asses back home. It was more of a chill night more than a party night. The consequences of this night was to catch up really soon.

Saturday: Woke up with the worst headache, got ready to leave for Ottawa to see Jezsica. We headed for the mall after dropping my stuff off at the Res. Went to the mall for chinese food (it was white man's) unfortunately, but neverthe less, with lots of Chilli sauce, it wasnt too bad. Did some Christmas shopping for her friends and my cousin and his family. Then we went back to the res, and got ready to go PARTYYY! Being the cheapskates we are, we pumped ourselves with Martinis, Vodka+ apple juice as a chaser, I had my mickey of Barcadi, and couple of tequilla shots. We were pretty much good to go by 11pm. The club was great, music was awesome, the alcohol kicked in eventually. About an hr and a half later, we got hungry, so we stumbled over to Pizza Pizza and ate like 2 huge slices each. I had so much hot sauce, I began sobering up. Went back, danced and drank a bit more, got our coats and left.

Sunday: Woke up with another splitting headache. Drank a ton of coffee, and got ready to go sightseeing. We went to the parliament.. again.. but its so beautiful. Went to the mall for food and more Christmas shopping for Jez. Went to the supermarket.. bought food for dinner and headed back to res. Ate dinner in Jezs's room.. surprised her HUGE crush with his Christmas prez.. which was great! Then about 10 pple came to the room for a round of STRIP POKER. Yes, that's right, STRIP POKER. It was interesting to watch how the guys love getting naked. I was lucky that night having to only strip 3 articles of clothing for both rounds. One round was a close call for many.. with 3 articles on the table. After that , me and Pat watched Step Up.. and Channing Tatum is too HOTTT!

Monday: Slept in till abt 1pm. Got up and got ready to leave by 4.45pm. Ate the best burger you'll ever taste on the Carleton campus, Deep South. Went back up, packed the last bunch of things and left for my 2 1/2 hr bus ride back to Kingston! Reached ard 8pm.. waited for Craig in the office till 9.15pm. Did some catching up and then headed home ard 12.30am. I'm glad to be home! I'm now counting the days to head down to Toronto to see my Uncle James!!!!

Ok.. I'm actually sleepy now. Will write again tomorrow.. if I feel like it.

Let the Fun begin....

I'm officially done school for the semester! I can't believe how quickly it went by! The first day of school is still fresh in my memory like it happened yesterday. The nerves, feeling alone, being extremely cautious about tripping and falling in the middle of the caf, I seem to remember it all pretty well! That's obviously history cos I have tons of friends now. But I'm just excited for the next semester now. So my first super crazy, fun night out was last nightand this is how it went.

The drinking started at home around 7pm and by 9pm I had gone thru 2 beers and 4 glasses of wine. At 9pm headed over to Chrissy's house had 4 cans of beer and 3 Yager shots, and got ready to go out. Head out to the first club Philthy McNasty, met the rest of the guys. Another shot of Yager, 4 glasses of Rye and Ginger, grabbed everyone and headed to Stages down the street. At stages, started with 2 shots of Liquid Cocaine each, then we went to dance. Had 3 more drinks of Fuzzy Navel, Sex on the Beach and a double rye and ginger. So by this time, i was Drunk. On the dance floor, some ass pours his drink on me and Chrissy in his drunken stupor and then he calls my friend a whore for some unknown reason and kicks her. She calls her Vietnamese bf, Thang, and he says he's coming down. We leave the club and stumble to Burger King to meet Thang's cousin Nguyen. At burger King this bunch of Caucasian guys starts making fun of Nguyen and he kept his cool for a bit. We see Thang's car so we step out. Nguyen tells Thang about the guys and Both of them and another guy Zhang, go in to BK and beats the shit out of the group of guys. I just stood there in absolute shock and I swear I started to sober up almost immediately. So I realised that the Asian ie Viets here are like scary.. haha. They're not tall but man can they beat the crap out of a big white guy. It was almost amusing until u see them(the white guys) with a bloody face. The 3 Viets have not a SCRATCH on them. After that point when i got in the car, I just passed out and I got carried home. The next i remember is waking up with the worst headache in the world.

But it was super fun to get out and let loose. I forsee many nights of drinking coming up soon. I swear I'm gg to kill my liver by the time I'm done school! It was an interesting night. There's another party tonight in Residence so thats going to be a BLAST!

Christmas is coming and I can't wait. Im a little sad though that I'm not going to be around all the people I love :( But I'm still gonna make the best out of it! Will update later.. i need to sleep this hangover off and prepare for tonight. OH! and I got 100 % on my human resources final exam... how damn great is that! Canadian schooling rocks!

Happy days

OKAY I know i havent been very good at updating.. but that cos of this thing called EXAMS Miss Marisa! So.. Tomorrow is my last paper and school's basically done for me!!! I can't believe how quickly time passed. It feels like it was just yesterday, that I was crying my eyes out at the airport. A whole semester has whizzed by and its been great fun.

I'm looking forward to tomorrow.. The night will be filled with drinking, more drinking, more drinking, more drinking, dancing and more dancing. Sounds good to me! I haven't drank in like a week.. no.. I'm not an alcoholic. The holidays are here.. and more importantly Christmas is here! I can't wait to see my Uncle and his family who's coming up. I wish he'd fit all my friends in his luggage too :) The holidays are going to be FUN esp since I'm going to be in TORONTO! I can't wait to go clubbing there... *yay*.

So i'll talk about the weather now. Its friggin crazy.. thats one way to put it. It's gone up to 9 degrees now. That's bloody warm when it was -15 like a few days ago. I swear to God.. it makes u sick. The winter's not even here yet, and it going to be Christmas soon. It's kinda strange.. but I'd wish it start snowing already. Well, maybe I'll take that back.. or not.. I don't know.. it doesn't feel very festive, holiday without knee-deep snow i guess. Oh! and Amherstview(where I live) is so beautiful with all the lights from the park and all the houses! Our house looks great with all the lights and Mr. Penguin outside!

I'm in a great mood today.. so its a happy post! I can't wait to be shit-canned tomorrow!! *WOO-HOO*

Moments

When I sit back and think about my life, It amazes me at all the different occurances, mistakes, tragedies, the good and the not so good times. I'm only 20 and there's so much that has happened. I know that I'm not as experienced as lots of people my age some younger. But I've had my share of shitty times.

It's a strange feeling to be at the beginning of the most important decade yet. The second decade of you life, i believe, is when u set your foundation for your dreams and goals. I think that one costly mistake in the next ten yrs could possibly ruin lots of things in the future. This is going to be the most eventful ten yrs too. There is a whole bunch of things that could happen in the next ten years, it's alomost too much to comprehend all at once. I'm personally excited, because I'm ready to work hard for the future and see what it awaits.

Stepping out of my comfort zone has not only been an eye-openner about a lot of things. It's somewhat amplified my feelings, emotions and thoughts. I seem a lot more calm and rational here. I think its just a mechanism in me that forces me to be like that. I can't afford to freak or lose control of my feelings here. Well at least I'm not soooo drama now. Still very reactive (chinchilla-like) but not so drama.

Spending the next 5 years here seems almost unreal to me. I'm starting to feel that my life might be here now. That might change at any point of course, but I think I want it to be here. The opportunities and the exposure I believe is far better than anything I'll get back home. But, home is home. No loyalties to the country, just the people in it and the FOOD. But, I guess i've wanted to leave for so long, and now I've got my chance.

Loooong day that ended well ;)

It's funny how the weather changes so quickly here. You think its going to be sunny, and then in 2 hrs when you already out, freakin snow starts falling on your head. The first thing that runs through your head is "CRAP!!!!". But then i think to myself "That's ok.. im wearing jacket and boots.. that'll keep me warm"... NOT! So.. i think this is the part where i have to stop being lazy and carry my gloves and hat around.

So.. today was a killer day. With a math test to write, a communications test and a marketing presentation. Killed 3 birds with one stone. My math teacher is an interesting subject that i will elaborate on further some other day. But I screwed a qn up.. I think.. but whatever.

What really got my adrenline pumping all day, was the aniticipation to present for marketing. Our case was Mercedes Benz's SL series.. and it was fun. Marketing has never quite been an option till now.. It was a freakin circus in the class.. where the audience can disagree and bomb anything you're saying.. and as the Marketing team, you've got to defend yourselves. It was not easy.. but I LOVE my group. Everyone seemed to like it.. cos we were almost spot on.. So i was glad in general.

Well.. my day's ended with 2 gd shows, Who Killed the electric Car, which is a documentary on the whole GM electric car scam. I thought it was rather interesting. The second show was some stand up comedian, Bill Engvill. He's soooo funny. More importantly, it was time spent with great company, my fav Kingston couple, Dave and Jenny! And where Dave is.. there's a ton of drinks.

In all my day was good.. for once.

The weirdest day of my life.

So today started of as a good day.. the weather was nice and warm at 3 degrees celcius, and the wind was going the same direction as me.. so i kinda got pushed to the bus stop. Took the bus into town.. met craig and got a ride to school.

Then everyone was basically nervous cos we were getting the final grade for our accounting.. and no one seemed to have a clue abt what it wld be.. so there was nervous energy around me all day. I did gd (95%). That made my day a little cos there's a lot going on right now. That happiness was short-lived.. cos I received disturbing news regarding the Braund. Things got cleared up eventually, after losing my appetite and having a headache frm thinking. Then, more news came in, which is currently making my stomach churn and making my head spin. The drama never ends in my life. Apart from all that, I have to deal with a math test, communications test, a marketing presentation and a severe case of homesickness. I cant believe writing this, is actually helping me feel better.

It's incredible how so many things can happen all at once and I'm still relatively sane. At this very moment.. I appreciate my strength from within.. which I never really thought i had. Being shipped overseas is both one of the crappiest and one of the best things that has happened to me. The saying is true "A crisis either builds your character or tears it down." I know that it's the former for me. I know I'm still not totally self dependent, because all you darlings.. Clare, ess, Farna, Shane, Moo, Dave... I still whine and seek advice.. But I think I've learnt to be a LOT stronger for myself, because not too long ago I realised.. the only 2 people I fully trust is God and myself. That's extremely hard to accept.. because you're almost forced to instantly grow up or you'll be eaten alive.

This is hard, so hard.

My virgin entry

So.. this is my very first entry in any form of blogging. Thanks to a fellow fav friend, I'm finally suckered into this thing.

I'm already hating it.. but we'll see. It's exactly 3am now.. and I'm not asleep because i think i ate too much candy and drank too much of rum and coke.. and i had a nap earlier. I just came home a while ago frm watching a rented movie at a friend's place, called Beerfest. Yes, i'm disgusting now cos I drink beer, and i can actually tell a good beer frm a shitty one. The movie was all abt beer with a storyline of saving a beer recipe thrown into it, but i liked it quite a bit.

So today was the first day of heavy snowfall. There is about ankle deep snow all over the plc now. It's a pain in the butt to walk in the snow cos there is a variety of very annoying things that can happen
1. You can slip and fall
2.You can freeze ure foot off if you're not wearing proper footwear.
3.You can't walk very fast
4. You'll get snow half way up your jeans, and when u think ure nice and warm.. it starts melting.

The list can go on, but im too lazy to whine now. Well this snowfall marks the start of a 3 month long winter, which i have a feeling i wont like, unless I'm making a snowman, learning to ski or going tubarganing.

Besides that, school is good. It's the exam time now. School is ending soon. When that happens, I'll write more thoughts abt the people I've met so far.. some culture shock moments.. yea.. I'll just put the interesting stuff down.
