When directions change

Time had passed me by so quickly. I can't believe it's almost the end of another school year. I met the love of my life when the school year began, and he's made these two semesters of school and being in Ottawa so memorable and beautiful. The sun's shining big and bright these days and everyone is a little chirpier and life in general, seems a little brighter.

Today, I had some time on my hands, so I sat back and thought about everyone that I love and terribly miss (yes, all my darlings at home)Then I thought to myself... everyone's directions are changing, yet somehow, we're all taking the turns on our own. My fab 4 darlings, we're all so far from each other, suddenly forcing us to gain independence and hang on while we embrace ourselves for the changes that come our way. My family: my parents, Tim, Nicole and probably even Marc, it never fails to make me so proud that I have the family that I do, they're all so smart and so strong in their own ways... it obviously runs in the John genes.

Then there's the boyfriend. He deserves a whole paragraph. The last six months have been nothing short of exciting, adventurous, full of love and a great abudance of FOOD. You've been my strongest support, my best friend,my confidant and my lover. Although it hasn't always been easy, you've never given up on me and on us, and you probably don't know how much that means. When I think about you and all the silly things we(you) do, it cracks me up every single time. In your words "I know a good thing when I see it". Babe, what we have is a great thing, and don't u ever forget that.

I want May to come soon, so I can start my freaking holiday! But I'll just patiently wait till April 19th to reunite with the latest addition to the family... Chloe!! Yet again, our directions are changing... I can't wait!

LOVE LOVE LOVES!!

So this is the newest addition to my anything-but-mundane life. 5 more weeks before I get to see her again. 5 more weeks before my life is going to take yet another turn. I'm SO EXCITED to have her come home!!

She's a Smoked Blue Cream Himalayan Cat. She was only 3 weeks old when we first saw her... she melted me heart as well as the 3 "manly" guys with me. She's gonna melt your hearts too!

When dreams come true

On Tuesday, 26th February 2008 at approximately at 8pm, I stood in awe looking at the Spice Girls live in flesh standing less than 50m away from me. In that moment everything was surreal, it almost felt as though time stopped. I was watching the SPICE GIRLS' FINAL performance EVER with the Love of my Life. I couldn't help but allow a tear(or two) of joy to trickle down my face. In that moment I was truly happy.

Their performance was amazing, I don't think I'll ever see anything like that ever again. There are no words that will do justice to their performance. However I must say that during the performance I wished my closest friends were there with me because it was such a magical 3 hours. I know if I died today, I'll be a happy woman.

Besides that, nothing much has been going on. We're apartment hunting right now for May 1st. It's been really fun to look for an apartment. At the same time, I feel so old because I'd never think that the day I look for an apartment for myself would come just yet. I'm also looking forward to the end of winter, I want the SUN!! I need to tan myself.. omg I'm like turning a weird shade of yellow. And I want to go Swimming, camping, Canada's wonderland and maybe fishing too.

Ok.. till next time! Photos from the concert!

Happy Times

My updating is getting a little slack I noticed, but ok lah it's not too bad. So anyways the momentum of school is kicking in. Workload is piling, tests are coming up in the next couple of weeks, profs are not as good as last semester (esp macroecons and social context of Business... ugh) and I have TWO math courses this sem.. so I think I'm going to drop dead. I'm missing all my girls back home, it feels like it's been so long. I see Mambo pics and partying pics and FOOD...omg I really really wanna come back to see you people and makan. This Moo is like going to Japan and Clare to France.. haiya.. you all leave when I come back.. sadness man.

On a happier note, the BF's birthday just passed a few days ago.. he's an old man now.. 24 yrs old. So we went to Mount Tremblant for his birthday as well as Sophorn's.... although NO ATTENTION was given to the poor guy cos Sopheap is an attention-seeker. But i realised something... skiing is not my thing. I really suck at it and it's ackward...So if we go up again next year.. I'm going to do more sightseeing and other activities like Zip-lining, magic carpet and snow-tubing (less skill involved). It was an awesome trip.. there was 8 of us and the dynamics between everyone is SO FUNNY... in all it was an awesome trip.. I can't wait till summer comes.. cycling, camping, canada's wonderland!!.. I cannot wait!

OK.. onto the MOST exciting news of 2008 (thus far): I'M GOING TO SEE THE SPICE GIRLS LIVE IN CONCERT 26TH FEBRUARY. Ok.. Clare and my fellow Spice Girls lovers you can imagine how friggin excited I am. Like it's like a dream come true... OMG I'm so excited. We just recieved the tickets.. so now it's for real.... I'm really going to see them!!! I hope i don't faint from excitement.. cos otherwise it's like a waste of money. But yes... only a month more then I get to see them. They we not even supossed to perform in Toronto... but cos demand was so great they opened 4 shows in Toronto at the last moment and ALL 4 shows... SOLD OUT IN A DAY! I'm going to see POSH SPICE oh goodness. I'M SO EXCITED. I have the best Boyfriend in the world... there are truly no words to describe how wonderful he is to me. Grateful is an understatement as to how I feel for everything that he's done for me. I don't know what I did to ever deserve this but I'm truly grateful, happy, blessed and loved for everything that I have in my life.

Ok.. so more updates another time!

P.S :Ski trip pics are on facebook. I'll make a collage of it and put it up on my blog in a few hours.. the bf has to be around cos the pics are in his computer.

Christmas+ Welcoming 2008 Baby!!!

I should have blogged a Christmas post but I was too busy having fun. Ok.. So my festivities began on the 23rd of December. Nick and Malika drove me and and the BF to Kingston. The ride was fairly interesting... but i won't elaborate. Anyways... one night in Kingston is NEVER enough. So our evening began with a delicious Christmas dinner cooked by Sopheap's parents...turkey and the whole works. It was SO good! Then we proceeded to opening presents mainly from Sophorn. I got the Stardust DVD!! It was really nice of him to do that. We pre-drank and got ready to hit club Stages. We had an AWESOME time there.. the music is mostly house mixes so it was GOOOOD. I'll put up some random pictures of the short but absolutely fun time at the house as well as at the club.

The next day, I had to get on the bus to Toronto, where i was going to spend the next couple of days with family and friends! Toronto is always fun.. there's so much to do.. so much to EAT!! I love that city. I had an awesome time with everyone. It was great that Jackie came down all the way from florida too. In all, the fun, food, company, laughs and monkeying around was memorable. At the same time, I was terribly missing the BF.. it was pretty bad :( Well for those who know, it was the first time we'd been apart for so long.... I'm a big baby.. yes yes. But in all I had an awesome Christmas.

Moving on, The highlight of the year was really the 31st. It was an awesome day with Sophorn, Chrissy and Jeff down. We were all antsy while waiting to head out and paint Club Heaven red one last time before the year ended. We had fun video taping Chrissy snore in her sleep and catching all the little funny moments that were going on in the apartment. Finally it was time to leave and we were pumped and ready to party.

The club was awesome, we had our party on.. and we were all ready to leave 2007 behind. I think, this has been the best New Years I've had in the LONGEST time. I was there with half of the people I love and my baby boy. It was a FUN FUN night. But by the end of the night, we were drained.. like lifeless almost. But it was worth it, every last second of it. I can't wait to see what 2008 has instored for me. I couldn't begin this year any more perfect. It's gonna be a great year and I know it. Till next time! Enjoy the pictures!

Special 2008 Welcome!!

Hey wassup Vanessa's friends, this is a special post from Sopheap. For those who don't really know me, I'm Vanessa's man. You may have seen one of my many photos on this blog. Somebody likes to be a tourist and take tons of pics. No names of course. Nah, she's the best! Anyway, I just wanted to bring in the new year to her blogger world and wish everyone much success and happiness. Hope to meet you all soon! And I'm out.

When 2007 comes to an end.

So this will be my final blog entry for 2007. The next couple of entries will mainly consist of photos and mini updates.

Memories of 2007 are bittersweet really. The year started the worst possible way imaginable, but it gradually got better.. very gradually but I've pulled through a difficult year.. in one piece too. It's funny how so much happens in one year. My life is way too dramatic for my own good. But finally things have settled down and I'm extremely relieved that things are finally looking up. Much of 2007 will be left behind (people and BAD memories)when the clock hits 0000 on 1st January 2008.

Anyhows, I'm looking forward to start the new year with a clean slate and build new memories and adventures that will carry through the next few years. It sucks that my girls aren't gonna be with me, but when u guys hit the new year 11 hours before me.. make sure u REMEMBER ME!! 2008 is going to be the best year yet and I already feel it...

OK so quick update. Went to my first EVER office Christmas party at the Westin. The food was uber yummy and Sopheap's work friends are just as eccentric as he is. So it was all very entertaining. It definitely broke the stereotype of computer geek I had in my head. In all,the party was great, I think I could get used to attending these things, well Sopheap needs to get used to it too. So it's going to be interesting. So I'm gonna leave some pictures of the party, but I've already flaunted it in Facebook but oh well. He's HOT lah what to do.
